My craft room is in the basement. It's a good size basement, I have one side and my husband has the other. Someday we will do the whole thing over but who knows when that someday will be! So for now I have to make do with the way it is. Somedays that's not easy to do!
One good thing about the basement is that it has these big windows. The windows help it not feel so much like a basement, at least on one side. The side where I do all my crafting is a different story.
I have the cement walls and one tiny little window that looks out to the ground! Doesn't bring in much light. But that's one thing I know I can't change and I can live with the tiny window.
The one thing that I can't live with is the UGLY green linoleum tile that is on the floor. It's simply hideous!
Can you feel my pain?! It's awful isn't it?! My ideal flooring would be hardwood, but the hubby doesn't want put anything nice down there due to the fact that every once in a hundred years (okay really more like every 5 years) the basement walls leak. So on the small chance that this might happen he is against doing anything down there until we can guarantee that the walls won't leak!
So as you probably gathered that I won't be getting my wood floor anytime soon! Plus my husband thinks it looks just fine the way it is now! I think he just says that hoping that I'll agree!
Knowing that I might never get hardwood floors still hasn't stop me from dreaming of doing something to this floor. I am open to suggestions if there are any out there. I have thought of painting it but that would be alot of work and I'm not sure how I would like it after it was done. But then again anything would be better then what I have now.

I know this probably wasn't a very exciting post but it's been on my mind lately and I just needed to get it out! I wish one of those makeover shows would just show up at my house and redesign and redecorate my whole basement! I can dream can't I?
Until next time,
Heather

I wish I had some suggestions to help you out. This is your craft room? Very nice I must say even with the green flooring. I'm in the basement of our house too, aka the "dungeon" as the only window I would have on my side is covered by the front steps which are concrete! Foundation is backwards on this old house and if it were correct the window would be in my sewing area! Anyway, I purchased a large piece of gently used carpet from a flooring place that was doing a job close by. It works for me at the moment and covers the ugly concrete floor.
Hope you can come up with a solution. Good luck.

Thanks Shelia! I did think about getting a large carpet to put down there but I have a 20 year old cat who likes to pee on rugs, so at the moment I can't do a rug. I so wish I could! At least we are lucky enough to have a place to do our crafts even if the place has ugly floors!
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading my blog.

I love your craft room! AND I like the floor..I know I am weird but I like it. I love your furnishings but what I think is the reds kinda clash with the green floor. What I would do if I had your awesome craft room and I couldn't change the floor is paint your cabinets and counters at the craft area white..I think adding more white would make the floor look good..just a suggestion! Lately I have been into whiter colors, I love prim but lately I have been leaning towards adding more light colors into my home. How cool that you live in your hubby's grandmother's home..and a 1940'2 home..you have a vintage home! How cool..!AND to have all that space for your craft room..so nice, despite the floor! LOL Have a great weekend..I will be standing guard at my mailbox..I am so excited!!!!!

I think it's an awesome room! The only things I can think of is area rugs or painting the floor and you already discussed those so I don't know what else there is. Personally, I don't think it's that bad, I love the green colors. You are fortunate to have such a big area to craft in! I have a small area of a room. I'd give anything to have your space, girl!
