Craft Show Pictures

I just had my first show of the year a couple weeks ago. Every July and September the Shaker Heritage Society
(which was Americas first Shaker settlement http://www.shakerheritage.org/ ) holds their annual craft fairs. Sales were pretty good. Not as good as last year but I did well enough to make it worth my time. I always enjoy going to this show. It's in a great area, the people are wonderful and there's so much history there. It's a perfect place for selling primitives!

Here are some of my pictures from this July's show and last fall. Hope you enjoy them!

Happy Rainy Tuesday!

It's another rainy Tuesday here in Upstate New York! It seems like every other day it rains. I do enjoy a rainy day every now and again but this is just a little too much! The good things about having so many rainy days is that it puts me in the mood to craft. Which is good since I have a big show coming up in less then 2 months!
Last night I finished up an order for one of my customers. Then I worked on one of my Santa dolls. I so enjoy making Santa's. Each one has it's own personality! I plan to make a bunch up this year. They always seem to sell well for me.

This weekend I plan to stay home and work on lots and lots of fall and Christmas crafts. Plus all weekend long it's Christmas in July on QVC! I love having that on in the back ground. Anything Christmas puts me in the crafting mood. I know we just got over this weekend but I am so looking forward to this upcoming weekend!
Hope you all enjoy your Tuesday!!

I'm ready for Fall!

So since it looks like summer is not making an appearance in my neck of the woods this year. I've given up and moved onto thinking about fall!! Which is of course my favorite time of the year!

I have a craft show in September and have been busy making fall creations for it. This year's line up includes cheesecloth ghost. I got the pattern from Tennessee Ridge Primitives. It's absolutely adorable! The ghosts sold well last year so I am hoping they will again this year.
I've also been making a bunch of my grungy white and orange pumpkins that I put into pie tins, old buckets, enamelware basins, baskets and anything else I can find to put them in. I love making things for fall. I seem to do my best crafting around this time of the year.

I always have a hard time with ideas for Spring/Summer crafts. Then I start to get discourage and don't feel like making anything. Then just when I am about to give up it's time to make my fall things and I get right back into it! This happens every year!
I've also been thinking about Christmas crafts too! I won't be doing a Christmas show this year because of the baby coming but I still plan on making lots of goodies. I sell my items at a couple of primitive shops in the area so I hope to have some Christmas things ready for them.

This is one of the shops who sells my items. It's Krafts by Kim. It's a great little Primitive/Country gift shop located in East Greenbush NY just outside of Albany. http://www.kraftbykim.com/ . The owner Kim is wonderful! She's been in the primitive business for a while and always has a great selection of items.

Well thats it for now! I hope next time to have some pictures to show you.

My First Blog!

Welcome to my new blog! I have been wanting to do this for a while now and have finally taking the plunge! So bear with me while I figure this whole blogging thing out. I read many blogs and love hearing everyone's life stories.
I hope you will enjoy reading about my life and adventures!
I try and keep my life as simple as possible. I always thought that less was more. Although it is kind of hard to follow that when I am out shopping at a primitive store or at a flea market! I love anything that has to do with the past. I love the primitive style and have just recently started to get into the colonial style decor.
We live in my husbands grandmother's house which was built in the 40's and I have tried to make it as primitive as I can. Right now it's just my husband, my sweet doggie Sadie and our cat Emily but in November we will be adding to our little family. We are expecting our first baby! It's a little boy and we are so excited to start this new chapter in our lives!
I am going to try my best to keep up to date with my blog. I have plans to add pictures and ideas and all sorts of good things to it! So stayed tuned!
Thanks for stopping by and checking my 1st blog out! Hope you all have a great day!
