The Days of Summer

Summer is quickly coming to an end and fall will be sneaking in before we know it! I am so excited for fall but kinda sad that the summer of 2012 will soon be just a memory.
This summer we created some awesome memories that we will have with us for the rest of our lives. And like with everything all good things must come to an end so that more good times and memories can be made.
All summer long we had fantastic weather. ALittle hot at times but heck thats what summers all about! The great weather allowed us to do so many out door activities. I really couldn't have asked for better summer weather.

In some ways it feels like the summer just began but in other ways it feels like it's been here for a long time.  I'm so grateful for all the great adventures and even the non-adventures  my family and I have had this summer.

Here are some pictures of our summer adventures.

Word of the year

A friend of mine recently introduced me to the word of the year. Instead of making New Years resolution you choose a word for the year.  The word you choose will help guide you through the rest of the year.

Words contain energy, images and meaning. When we hear a word it gets to our hearts and has more power behind it then a resolution does.

When my friend first told me about this I thought it would be so simple to choose a word for the year, but it turned out to be much harder then I thought.

After much thinking about what I wanted most out of the year to come I decided my word of the year would be "expansion". Of course I could have gone with happiness or joy or contentment but I wanted there to be more to it.  I looked at the things I wanted to achieve this year and one word that came to mind was expansion, it seemed to fit perfectly.

There are many parts of my life I wish to expand this year. One is  my primitive craft business. Would like to sell my items to more shops around the country and sell more online as well. Along with this I'd like to expand my knowledge of primitive/colonial crafting  by taking classes or finding people who have similar interest ,who I could learn from.

Another area I'd like to expand would be my social circle.  I'd love to meet new friends who have a love for crafting, primitives, and decorating.
If I can expand myself and business in these areas it would allow me to achieve my larger goal, to have Primitive Memories be successful enough to able me to work at home and  raise my family full time.
It's a big goal but one I feel is reachable! It just might take a little time and patience!!
And there's one more area I'd love to expand and that would be my family! Yup I said it! I'd loved to have another baby. My son is 2 and I think it's time for a little sibling for him.

So as you can see I have some big dreams/goals for the year 2012 and beyond!  I believe all things are possible and I have no doubt that if I work hard and think positive, all I set out to expand will come to reality.

Hoping you all had a wonderful holiday season and have a bright and joyous New Year!!

Until next time,
Heather
