A little Christmas trip....

This past weekend my husband, Jackson and I took a little trip over to Stockbridge Massachusetts. This weekend they had their annual Main Street at Christmas. The little village of Stockbridge closes down Main Street and recreates an image from one of  Norman Rockwell's picture of the village at Christmas time.

The main street was lined with old fashion cars and trucks. The famous Red Lion Inn was deck out to the it's fullest with holiday cheer, Carolers were singing and Santa was there to greet children of all ages. It was a wonderful day! It really made it feel like Christmas time.
It is such a charming little village. You really do feel like you are stepping back to a simple time.

Hope you all are having a wonderful week!

Autumn Pictures

It was such a lovely weekend that we decided it would be the perfect time to go for a little ride up north. We started out at the pumpkin patch. I was having a fine time until a creepy slithering snake decided to make an appearance right in front of me! I hate snakes, especially the ones that unexpectedly appear out of no where. Thank goodness we had already found our perfect pumpkin before I saw the snake. Once I saw that snake I was done with the pumpkin patch experience!!

After leaving the pumpkin patch we took a little ride on the back roads of the Adirondacks. On our little ride we came across my dream cabin! I just had to stop the car and take a picture, well actually my mom took the picture, not too bad for a novice!  I can so see myself living there!

We passed a charming farm house. Another house I could just see myself living in.

Along the way we stopped at Gore Mountain for their fall festival. Picked up a few goodies there!

And our last stop on our beautiful fall ride, was at my moms house. Here's Jackson with his best buddies, Timber and Sam. The dogs are always two steps behind him. It's so cute to watch the three of them together.

These pictures are from around my house. I picked up these gorgeous mums at a local farm stand. They are so full and colorful.

This year I've decorate very simply for fall. I've decided that less is more when it comes to my decor. Plus it's so much easier packing it up and putting it away!

It was a great weekend spent enjoying this wonderful Autumn season with my family. This really is the best time of the year! Pumpkins, apples, changing leaves, car rides, blue sky, apple cider donuts, wood stove burning, fall festivals, cooler temps, what more could one want?
Hope you all are enjoying this wonderful time of year!
Until next time,
Heather

Apple, apples and more apples

This past weekend my husband and I took our little guy apple picking for the first time. He is almost 2 and I thought it's about time we took him apple picking. He loved every moment of it! He loved the hay ride, the apple picking and eating and of course he loved running around the orchard.

It was a perfect apple picking day not too hot and not too cold. And the sky was a beautiful September blue. The day couldn't have been any better!

After we picked all the apples we could carry we went home and baked some apple pie! Well I actually did the baking my husband decided  it would be more fun to stack wood and my little guy decided a nap sounded better the helping his mama bake! Go figure.

But I didn't mind at all that I was left to bake alone. I love baking apple pies. It remind me when my mom used to bake apple pies every fall. Nothing says fall like homemade apple pies.

My best friend Katie always makes fun of me when we bake together because I always make such a huge mess.  What can I say? I really liked to get involved in my baking! As you can see!

Here's my pies. This is the same Apple Pie recipe that my grandmother used and my mom . You can tell it's been well loved.

My house smelled wonderful while the pies were baking!

It was a perfect way to end a perfect day!

We made wonderful memories and hope to make it a yearly tradition.
